How did I get here? If you’ve been feeling stuck in the same exhausting loop of overthinking, overdoing and running on empty, welcome to the Work-Life Boundaries podcast. In this episode, I’m…
So again, this isn't about fixing your whole life in one day.
Okay.
Just like any great thing in life, it takes time.
And you know, with intentional time, it only gets better.
But learning to catch yourself in the moment and say, wait, like this is that thing I do.
This is the pattern.
This is what's keeping me in overwhelm.
And, you know, that kind of awareness is powerful.
So let's walk through these together.
The first one is staying over activated and in go mode.
And this is when your body, your mind, your emotions, all of you, it starts living in a constant state of urgency.
And you're always bracing yourself.
Like you're thinking ahead.
You're always trying to stay on top of what's next.
Even when nothing big is happening, you still feel like you're in response mode.
You're not really present.
You're just managing and you're scanning and reacting or just pushing things along, right? And after a while, busy stops feeling like a season and it starts feeling like your identity.
This pattern is tricky because it can make you feel productive when you're actually just overstimulated.
And it can make you think you're doing well because you're getting things done.
But underneath it all, your nervous system is wearing down and your mind never really gets settled.
So the pivot here is not to suddenly become a calm, serene woman overnight because let's get real, right? The pivot is to slow yourself down enough to ask, what is actually happening right now? Not what might happen in an hour or what needs to happen by the end of the week, but what is actually happening right now? Because sometimes the problem isn't the moment itself, but the speed that you're bringing into it.
And if you can begin noticing when your body is racing ahead of reality, that's where change starts.
