In this episode of the Top 5% globally ranked Work Life Boundaries podcast (THANK YOU FOR LISTENING!), we’re talking about what it looks like to reconnect with God when life feels loud, heavy and…
When I feel overloaded, I can, I can easily be tempted to do the same thing I've always done, but I can go looking for something quick, you know, something easy or that feels like it's helping me in the moment.
And sometimes those things do give a quick result, but quick is not the same as lasting, right? I mean, I've had to learn and honestly, I'm still learning that just because something helps me cope for a minute, doesn't mean it's actually healing me or helping ground me or leading me anywhere good.
And that's why being tethered to the word every day matters so much.
Not because I'm trying to be perfect.
Honestly, I feel like I've given up on that.
But because if I'm not intentional, I will drift right back into habits that leave me empty.
In fact, this literally happened to me just yesterday when one of my girls wouldn't listen and get her butt out of the pool.
And it drives me crazy because I get so tripped up and mad at myself when I mess up.
It's another piece of what I'm trying to unlearn right now.
So there's that.
But, you know, it actually becomes easier, at least that I have noticed, to identify as well.
You know, the longer that you've been working towards that consistency of reading your Bible, because once you go a day or more without it, you can so tell.
And I know I'm not the only one.
When you're ambitious and capable and caring a lot, it's easy to keep functioning while quietly feeling disconnected.
Because you can still get things done.
You can still show up.
You can still keep the day moving.
But deep down, you know you're running on fumes.
And what I want to remind you of today is this.
You do not need another quick fix.
You need something that roots you and brings you back to truth.
Something that actually sustains you.
So let's talk about three ways to do that.
