And I do think that this kind of helped with like inspire this episode, I guess, because it's all about getting a bikini body.
And I don't know if you've clicked on this because you actually think I'm going to tell you how to get like the stereotypical bikini body.
But I feel like every single summer, we hear the exact same phrase, which is get your bikini body.
And I'm like, what? I don't think I have ever met a woman who has not felt the pressure that comes from those words.
And the second the weather starts getting warmer and it feels like the conversation, it seems like it just changes and the focus changes and suddenly it's all about some body workouts and calorie deficits and fixing your stomach and fixing your cellulite and fixing every little thing that supposedly isn't good enough before you're allowed to enjoy the next few months.
I thought that confidence was something that kind of lived on the other side of losing weight.
And I thought that I would finally enjoy being on holiday once my body looked a certain way.
And I'd literally say, oh, I'll wear my bikini when I've lost a bit of weight, or I'll take more photos when I'm more confident.
There is always another reason why I wasn't quite ready to... fully live and enjoy my life.
And I think that so many of us do the exact same thing where we spend months preparing for summer, but we never actually prepare ourselves to enjoy it because we become so focused on changing our bodies that we are completely forgetting that the point is to make memories and laugh with our friends and eat ice cream and wear the bikini to swim in the ocean.
The older I've got, the more I've realized that getting bikini body actually has very little to do with changing my body.
Because I genuinely don't think that my body has actually ever been the thing that's stopping me from enjoying summer.
