Cool.
That- that's awesome.
But strip it down.
What does that actually mean? Because I feel like if we don't really dive into it, you might feel like you missed a couple steps.
Uh, we talk a lot about intuition as if everybody was issued some sort of owner's manual at birth, and somehow you missed the day they handed yours out.
And if you've ever heard somebody say, "You just have to trust your intuition," while you're sitting there thinking, "Well, okay, but how the hell am I supposed to know which voice is my intuition?" This is the episode for you.
Because let's be honest, just trust your intuition, that's not particularly useful advice when you don't know what intuition feels like in the first place.
It's kind of like telling somebody, "Well, just relax," when they're stressed.
If they knew how to simply switch it off, they probably would have done so already.
And I think it's a mistake that intuition gets made way more complicated and mystical than it needs to be.
Yes, intuition, that can absolutely be a deeply spiritual experience.
It can show up through divination and dreams and energetic impressions and sudden knowing.
But intuition is also incredibly ordinary.
It happens when we grocery shop.
It happens when we talk to friends, when we're deciding whether to take the left turn or the right turn.
Intuition is constantly happening.
It's happening when we meet somebody and something about them feels familiar or uncomfortable or off in some way.
And the problem usually, 9 times out of 10, is not that you don't have intuition.
That's not the problem here.
The problem is that you have gotten really, really good at talking over it.
So let's start with the big question, ground floor.
What actually is intuition? I wish there was a perfect definition.
There unfortunately isn't one, and that is what makes it so difficult to explain.
Intuition is often described as a kind of knowing without consciously knowing how you know.
It's information that just seems to arrive before you have logically worked through all the evidence.
