What if changing direction doesn’t require reinventing yourself at all? Executive and leadership coach Michele Margolin joins *Wise Up* to challenge some of our assumptions about career change…
I think if you find yourself, which I did, sort of dialing it in, I would say.
So it's like I felt like I would hit certain goals or I would do certain things and it would just feel flat to me.
even though, again, I felt competent at things I was doing, I felt like I was often going through the motions, right?
it's like you fall into that trap of being good at something and doing it well, but that doesn't really mean that you're really into it or it's what you want to be spending your time and energy doing.
And I think another sign for me was I would look for jobs, whether it was post, you know, practicing law or even after my stint doing other things.
I, you know, I would half-heartedly do interviews and I would half-heart if people would say, look at this, look at that.
So I think some of those are the telltale signs, right? That disengagement kind of going through the motions, um, talking yourself out and then into what you're doing again, you know, and also those things, um, Continuing over like six months or more, I would say.
You know, that's when you really want to take a look at what's going on and and and maybe, you know, you're ready for something new or different.
It could be something in a new organization, something completely different, something of your own.
