So what's the difference between a headache and a migraine, and how can someone tell what they're experiencing?
So I like to say that a headache is, is more of a symptom, whereas migraine is truly a neurological disease.
Um, headache is an umbrella term where you have many diagnoses underneath that particular umbrella.
... where, you know, you have muscle tension, neck pain, um, dehydration, you don't get enough sleep, you have a... sleep poorly or have a bad pillow, um, stress, hormones, they all play a role.
But the differ- the true difference between what the general public calls a headache and what's a migraine is the disability.
Um, so migraine by definition is a moderate to severe headache that lasts longer than four hours that is accompanied by an associated symptom.
Um, and that's really the distinguishing factor, how, how long it lasts, how severe it is, and that additional symptom that comes along with it.
