You're waiting for life to to make sense you're waiting for things to just kind of fall into place and you wait and you wait because you're just you're so afraid of just kind of going for it right um being responsible for your life essentially i remember when i was in grade three i think i've even spoken about this on the podcast before was that when i was in grade three we had a um we had a play a school play that they do for the intermediate phase and stuff And I signed up to be a part of the chorus, right? Because I felt like, OK, I can hide there.
And then one day in rehearsal, they made everybody the captain, right? Because the play was about a spaceship, all of that kind of stuff.
And the captain of the spaceship, which was the lead character, was struggling to say this like one word.
And they made everybody in the classroom say this word, which was the planet roboticus.
And when I said it, you know, they just made all of us say it just so that we, you know, learned how to say the word.
And they were like, you know, calling all the other teachers to come and like, Zama, come listen to Zama say this, the planet's a roboticus.
And I guess I said it with an ease that intrigued them that they were like, Zama, say some more words.
And they gave me a script and they started like asking me to say more and say more and say more until before I knew it, I became the captain of the entire play, right? Unfortunately, they replaced me with, I'm so sorry to hear that.
But anyways, I guess they just love the way that I pronounce things, enunciated things my way and all that kind of stuff and performed, you know.
And I was so used to that tactic of waiting for opportunities to find me, to come and choose me and all of that kind of stuff.
hopefully good luck finds me at some point whatever it is but it's like when that happened to me when I was young I stayed in my comfort zone you know because I just always assumed that opportunities would find me rather than me going out for them and chasing them rather than me signing up to be the captain in the first place you know and all of that I think the problem with people who don't take accountability for their lives is that we blame oh we will blame we will blame anything everyone you're the problem this this this this is the reason my life isn't like this is because this and this and this and this and this the reason this didn't happen for me is because this this this this and this the reason this doesn't you know like we will blame everything under the sun for the way that our lives are you know and i get it that some things genuinely are not in our control that some things genuinely have just happened to us that are so awful you know um And, you know, that is true.
Two truths can exist, you know, and it's just like, you know, oh man, we will find anything to blame for why we don't get to live our dream and all of that kind of stuff.
Another reason with the problem with not taking accountability for your life is that we judge.
We will judge people because, you know, when we always speak about being that bitter person judgmental auntie because you did not go out for your dreams because you didn't go out for what you wanted and so you judge everybody else that does you know and you try to find a flaw with them you try to find something wrong that they're doing you try to find something that's just so off about them you're you're just judging everything about people because you're so miserable you're so miserable that you couldn't do it you know and so you blame everybody else you know you find a way to transfer that energy onto everybody else you know And that is a problem.
If you find yourself in a position in your life where you feel like you're constantly judging people, maybe like introspect and look within and wonder like, you know, is it because I didn't go do the thing I said I was going to do? Is it because I didn't believe in myself enough? Is it because I didn't trust myself enough to do something? You know, is that why I've become so judgmental? It's because I feel like I can't dress the way they dress.
