A Florida woman shoots a facility manager after she was caught sleeping inside her storage unit.
A Florida storage facility manager had begun walking away from two women that she found sleeping inside a rented storage unit when one of them called her back.
The manager then turned around, heard a loud bang, and felt pain in her face.
Oh, no.
The manager doesn't know Florida 101 is when they call your name, you don't turn back.
Thankfully, the manager survived the shooting at the Public Storage in Brevard County, Florida.
Although a bullet remained lodged inside her face.
[laughs] Lodged in her face.
My goodness.
She was transferred to intensive care for further evaluation.
They said her injuries are non-life-threatening, thankfully.
The county sheriff's office identified Florida woman Candace Jo Pierce, age 40, as the suspected shooter, and arrested her the following morning.
This all took place on Saturday shortly after 10:00 AM when the manager was checking units at the Public Storage when she noticed unit number E613 was unlocked.
Inside, she discovered two women.
They were laying down on the floor of the storage unit.
The manager explained that customers were not permitted to sleep or live in these rented storage spaces.
That was when Pierce reportedly argued that she should be allowed to stay in her facility.
The manager told them to leave immediately.
She did offer not to report the violation to management if the women agreed to leave, giving them an opportunity to depart without further trouble.
[laughs] However, you're dealing with Florida women.
They're not departing without further trouble.
Further trouble is their middle name, as they say.
[laughs] Now, as the manager walked away, that was when Pierce allegedly called her back to the unit.
When she turned toward Pierce, she heard a loud bang, and that's when she felt the pain in her face, realizing she had been shot in the face.
