I wonder if somebody else in the family of Luke 15 in this parable, if you imagine here, would have thought they had known this younger son.

I mean, any other father... would have questioned i thought i knew you after all i've done for you what we're gonna see as we are taken on this journey by jesus through four big scenes that with the father there's fullness away from the father there's emptiness returning to the father there's forgiveness And then there's a little postscript there, right? A little something at the end that shows us that actually, if you resent the Father, there's blindness.

Now, the context for this, we read, or we would have read in chapter 15, verse 1.

There's people that Jesus is spending his time with and that very much angers them.

And so Jesus, instead of giving a three-point sermon on a particular something, says, let me tell you a story.

And then he tells these two beautiful, beautiful parables that we investigated a little bit about a lost sheep and a lost coin.

And then here we find a completely different parable that in verse 11, he says, well, Jesus continued.

It is a person realizing and returning and repenting because of the love of the Father.
