Welcome to Wales & Westminster

Laura, I suppose people will be listening to this and going, who on earth are these two? Is this the new Richard and Julie?

Yeah, so many, I think many listeners will know me from my work in politics in Cardiff Bay in Westminster, working with lots of different politicians, doing comms, digital media, and a bit of a journalism background as well.

So I think that's what will make this a fun pairing.

Lots of laughs, lots of gossip, lots of insider information.

And I also have another podcast where I interview female peers in the House of Lords.

So for me, it's really great to add another podcast to that mix and just dive into the issues that are all affecting us and what we want to know, what's going on at both ends of the M4.

But tell us a bit about you, Rob, and this new chapter of your career.

I'm Rob Osborne.

Osborne? Osborne.

Yeah, I think people probably know me now from ITV, where I've left two weeks ago, although weirdly we'll still be on air for a few more months.

Don't ask me how that happens.

It's the magic of television.

But I'm starting out in a new chapter.

I call it a portfolio career.

So I'm doing multiple things, including this podcast up here.

There's a bit of a pundit now from time to time.

Going to be doing paper reviews occasionally and things like that.

It's very exciting.

So the way we're building this then is you are the insider.

You are the one that's been there advising them as a special advisor.

Whereas I'm the outsider.

I'm the really annoying one that asks them really awkward questions.

Well, I do that as well.

So that's why we're well matched.
