There's a movie that came out, I think, in the late 40s, and then they remade it again about 10 or 20 years ago called Whiskey Galore.
The war is on and therefore they're not getting any shipments of whiskey and they've just run out and everyone is very sad about it.
But then, hallelujah, there's a shipwreck of a big freighter with the hold stuffed with cases of scotch.
And They get most of the whiskey off of the ship before the local authorities figure out what's going on and are like, wait, you can't do that.
But by this time, they've hidden the whiskey all over the place, including in some boxes of ammunition that the local authority guy is getting ready to send someplace.
And when it arrives, they open it up and see the whiskey bottles tucked in there and think, oh, he's smuggling.
And so he gets arrested and The community gets back to being drunk on scotch until the end of the war.
It's also an opportunity for a life imitates art kind of thing because something very similar to that happened in 1932 at Whale Cove.
There's a rock that sticks out of the ocean in the mouth of Whale Cove, and they call it a rum runner rock.
