Wildfires happen, and I want to start with something people don't always think about.

Your pet can feel the effects of a wildfire long before the flames are anywhere close to your home.

One, your area has the smoky air, but you're not being evacuated, or two, which we don't wish on anyone, a fire is actually approaching your home.

Dr. Amber, let's start with the smoke since that's a situation that far more pet parents will actually face, especially there's, like, wildfire everywhere now.

What do you do instead so the dog isn't just bored all day, especially if we can't go out on long walks or, you know, like playing outside on the yard?

So you wanna just take short potty breaks outside, and then, you know, bring that energy indoors.

So use puzzle toys, nose work, basic training sessions, you know, maybe some tug of war with their favorite toy.

Um, so there's ways that you can keep their mind busy inside without the exposure outside.

What about inside the house? Like, how can you protect, like, uh, the air quality inside your home?
