This week on Unanchored, Emela is flying solo as Amy is off on vacation — but thankfully, there is PLENTY to discuss! A new Italian deckhand arrives, the long-awaited police boat finally shows up, and…
Luckily, there was quite a lot happening in this last episode, so I have plenty to talk about, starting with the new man on the boat.
Hello, Masi.
And I'm just now unsure if it's Masi or Masi.
So I'm probably going to be interchanging it throughout this recording.
Bear with me.
And I'm so sorry.
Everyone on the show has an accent, and they're calling him Massey.
So it is what it is.
Anywho, I really like him already.
He just comes onto the boat and immediately has this very experienced, very unbothered energy.
I mean, he has been a yachtie for 10 years, and he says that cigarettes and stress are in his blood, which I feel like is...
Probably the most accurate description of a Yachty we've ever heard.
That is what it will say.
We literally see him lighting a cigarette in his green screen and the producers were not having it.
I was dying.
I thought this was just so on point.
He is living up to all the European stereotypes.
But anyway, what I really liked about Massey was how quickly he seemed to settle in.
I mean, you could really tell.
It makes such a difference when someone comes onto a boat with a lot of experience and doesn't need a really big adjustment period.
On that note, though, he also immediately notices the tension between Joe and Nathan.
I found that really interesting because obviously we have been watching this tension build for all this time, but he has just arrived and he can already feel it.
That means that it is very palpable.
