And so he started the previous season together with Aesha and with Nathan, and then Joe joined a few charters in after some firings on deck.

He definitely struggled when Nathan gave Joe the lead deckhand position, despite previously as good as telling Max that the role would be his.

And then Max definitely had some issues with obeying his bosun, let's put it that way.

But if you ask Max, he says it was the best performance of his life, so I am very curious to see what that means for this season.

So at least for the beginning of this season, Max will be working under Joe Sun, the bosun, as Nathan is off the boat.

Joe says in the episode that he does know how to deal with Max, and I do think that Max is gonna bring a bit of fresh energy and also experience to the team.

Like, let's keep in mind that it's Joe as bosun, Aesha, who hasn't worked on deck for a very long time, and Cooper, who is greener than a green bean.

I think the big test will actually be when Nathan comes back, for Max but also for Joe.

And one thing to note on that is that when Nathan does come back, him and Max are gonna be sharing a bunk.

So that has the potential to be pretty awkward if their kind of negative relationship continues from last season.
