it was and it was something that's not happened for a little while because you've been training um is that you crewed me which was nice um so i i Had 20 miles on the cards today.
I'm doing Big Pilgrimage Marathon next weekend, and this is all kind of building up towards doing Big Sky 50K Ultra mid-late September.
If you've never heard of Big Feet events, I highly recommend checking them out.
Especially if you like those slightly longer distances, they're super inclusive and always amazing routes.
So yeah, I'm in for a couple of those.
And
this is a big kind of autumn for you, I guess, because you have gone a few years without... chaining together big back to back big events like this
yeah I mean I don't normally I say I don't normally I haven't I had a three year break from marathon running because I tore my hip flexor it was a 50 to 60% of the fibres torn at which point I had to have three months completely off running and And I just completely fell out of love with long distance running after that.
I think where I'd lost all my fitness, both speed and endurance in that time.
And I just couldn't, I was getting frustrated that I couldn't bring it back as quickly as I'd lost it.
It just feels really unfair that you don't just sort of keep it when you've got it.
Um, and then, yeah, I just had a three month, three months, three years out of marathon and ultra running.
I
mean, you've come, you've come from a long way in the last year, January 1st, 1st of January, 2025.
And you said, do you think it's outrageous that I could do easily 10 K and which was in mid to late March.
It was
later than that.
Was it later in January?
Yeah, it was the end of January, I think.
It
was about eight weeks.
I think it was six weeks even.
And that was kind of my target was to get back what felt, I mean, it is a long distance.
