Kala & Thomas: Grief, Glamor, & Making Tika Proud

I know the two of them were supposed to go to the Wicked premiere together shortly after Tika passed.

Did you think about not going?

funny about that is we got the invite for that the week after Tika passed.

And when you travel with a

dog, it's usually one dog per passenger when I fly.

So I can never travel with both dogs.

My husband stays back with the kids.

So I would have probably brought Tika.

I mean, at that certain point in time, she was recovering from her surgery.

So it would have been Kala anyway.

But I think getting that invitation It was really bittersweet because the year before when Wicked, the first Wicked came out, we made a lot of content around it.

I love the musical.

I love the movie.

So, you know, we had Glinda dresses made and Elphaba dresses made.

And like, we just had a lot of fun making the content.

And then with the second movie coming out, we, you know, had the new dresses made and kind of explored that a bit.

So getting that invitation felt really full circle.

Like, you know, they noticed us and they invited us to the premiere and, but it wasn't with Tika.

So that was bittersweet, but Calla was amazing.

It was her first like big event like that.

And she was such a star and,

I thought the videos that you made were so moving.

Yeah, you cried.

I cried multiple times watching that video.

I cried too.
