Welcome to Tiny Game Chronicles, another bonus episode.
I recently played a little game called Elekhead and thought it was pretty clever, pretty cute, worth talking about.
Wanted to share it with the listeners of the show.
So why don't we just get into it, shall we? 🎵 Alekhead was released on PC on October the 14th, 2021.
It was developed and published by Nama Takahashi, and the music and sound design was done by Tsuyomi.
Now, you might remember those names because both of those individuals were involved with a game that I really loved that we played on the show last year.
Ooh, or as Michael likes to say, I'm pronouncing that correctly, Michael.
Regardless of how you pronounce it, I think it's pretty safe to say that Elec Head shares quite a bit of DNA with Ooh.
But for those of you who may be unfamiliar with what Elekhead is, it's essentially a retro style 2D puzzle platformer.
You play as a small robot whose head has the ability to electrify everything that it touches.
And you use this mechanic to solve these single screen puzzles to progress towards the end of the game.
Elekhead was received quite well by critics, currently sitting at an 83 on OpenCritic.
It is also rated as overwhelmingly positive with over 1,300 user reviews on Steam, often being praised for its clever puzzle setup and retro aesthetic.
