Sometimes changing your environment changes the way you see everything. In this episode, I’m sharing the biggest lessons Bali taught me about happiness, success, slowing down, connection, and what…
One is that abundance is way, way beyond money.
Like when everyone thinks about abundance, they just immediately associate it to money, dollars, finances.
And coming from a place like Los Angeles, I was in fight or flight mode for so long and I didn't even realize it.
Like you have to make a certain amount of money to live a very specific way.
So you're constantly thinking, okay, what do I need to do to make money? Like a lot of the decisions you're making are all from a place of money.
So money is like a very, very – prevalent thing in your life like you were constantly thinking about how can I make more what do I need to make more versus like what actually fulfills me? What is the way in which I'm making money? How does that make me feel versus the actual dollar value behind it? And so coming to Bali has allowed me to just step back and be able to be more in my creative energy and be out of that fight or flight mode to go, oh, wait, how do I actually want to make money? What actually fulfills me on a daily basis? What does abundance look like beyond just money and status? It's like, what actually brings me fulfillment? Because ultimately, when I'm able to make money from something that fulfills me, that is so much better than trying to be constantly stuck in this fight or flight mode, being like, oh, I have to make this much a month.
Here, it's like, okay, well, I don't really have to make this much money a month.
So I can kind of take a step back.
And then also within that, Bali opens up your eyes to like a specific way of living.
And it's kind of also goes into number two.
So I might not even label them because I feel like they're all going to kind of run together to an extent but it's like you everything obviously here is very price very differently than it is in the states and so And also just like a lot of other places in the world.
So what it does is it gives you a lot of access.
And it makes you realize that the money, the dollar value, isn't usually what people actually want.
It's a specific lifestyle they want.
It's access to things that they want.
And so being here, it's like you can get the massages whenever you want.
You can have – it's way easier to rent out a podcast studio.
All these things that heighten your life.
Like me and my friends go to dinner all the time because you order food anyway.
So you might as well go do it with friends.
And then you can go – out and have some drinks or you people, even guys can get a table at a club instead of for $10,000, they can get it for $1,000.
And so it just gives you access and it shows you a lifestyle that you want.
And that's why, and then it's a lot of, it's hard for people to leave because they're like, okay, well, these are all the things that I love.
And you realize that you just love a specific lifestyle.
you don't actually like care about how much you're making right so it then shifts the goal from going okay well i want to make x amount of money to being like i just want to be able to live this life and then if i want to live this life in another country what is the dollar value then that i would need to make in order to have that lifestyle so it's understanding and finding that it's less about or i've learned for myself it's less about the actual money you're making and more about the lifestyle that you're able to have with that money and maybe for some people that seems obvious right But I think for me, I spent so long just focusing on a specific dollar value where I was like, I never really cared about the dollar value.
