Welcome back to another episode of The Woo with Amber, with Amber The Intuitive Witch! In this podcast we explore the mystical, intuitive, magic and alternative. Through story telling from our lovely…
So I guess the thing that I really want to share about Chiron is that the story that we use when we talk about him as the wounded healer happens really late in his life.
And so much happens before that, that I think also tells us about Chiron in astrology.
So in astrology, for those of you who aren't familiar, Chiron is an asteroid.
And it's one of the asteroids that is often put into your chart as default.
So it moves fairly slowly, takes about seven years to go through each sign and so has kind of a generational impact and has just moved into Taurus.
And then maybe put a bit more context around the story of his wound, because I think it's really interesting to understand how that all happened.
And when Kronos sees Phalaera, he falls in love with her or, you know, thinks she's beautiful.
I don't know, gods don't really deal in love, do they? But he thinks she's beautiful and he has to have her and so he transforms into a beautiful stallion to seduce her.
Philaera is horrified that he is born with the body of a horse and a man.
And I think that in many ways this is often how Chiron shows up in our chart.
When we think about Chiron wounds, these are often early childhood wounds.
It's not later on in our life when we're hit by an arrow, but it's like the trauma that we're carrying with us from a very young age that settles in us and that we live with and that we work with for all of that time.
He is adopted by Apollo and Artemis, the god of the sun and the goddess of the moon.
And he is trained in the ways of wisdom, of civilization, of music, of philosophy, of the wild and the wild hunt with Artemis.
And he bridges this gap between I guess in many ways like the civilized man half of himself and the wild horse body that he also has and the like embodied wisdom of the wild places and the wild things that Artemis teaches him.
