It's brutal.

It's incessant.

It's relentless.

It's physical.

It's demanding.

And you're asking them to just, because the quality is less, to just switch and for it to be fine.

I'm really concerned about that.

But look, that's their decision.

They're going to have to hang

And then my other concern over the window is, yeah, it's too short-termist.

So you remember, as you were saying earlier, sort of when...

when they were last in the championship, and I know things were very different back then, but when they were last in the championship under Nuno, they invested massively.

They spent big.

They went on Neves.

They went on Jota, Bonatini, Vinagre, Roderick Miranda, All these guys came in.

Barry Douglas.

They'd already bought Cavalera and Costa.

Each of them were a club record.

So big money, big risk, but big reward because they put together a team that was good enough to finish 7th in the Premier League a year later with some more additions on top of that.

But they built a team for the future.

Jota and Neves were so young at the time.

They all were.

They're all sort of a decent age.

All built for the future.

This season, the exact opposite right five free transfers all over 30 right three of them over 35 all right one of them's john roddy's not going to play but still five free transfers of players he knows he's not

going to play now after the press release

yeah exactly yeah uh and then you know um alone which might not go through if they don't go up potentially jordan james um uh a free transfer uh left back um and uh trail ray who comes in for a year he's short term and then to tap it or to top it all off need from newcastle on loan no option when was the last time they did that i know they don't do that i think william jose was the last one

And they might even have had an option for Willian Jose.

They're sitting there and never going to take it up.

I mean, you might

as well say an option anyway.

Do you know what I mean? If you're not going to take it, it just looks like bed on paper, doesn't it? You know what I mean? There's a little bit of thought process there.

But, I mean, that just was like a smash and grab late on, wasn't it, really?

Well, where you sort of make up that money is investment from the owners.

But they haven't invested this summer.

And that, again, it all speaks to a sort of short-term, let's get this club up in as cheap a way as possible.

And potentially, although I know this is strongly disputed by people at the club, but not by... a journalist at The Athletic called Matt Slater who's written about this before potentially sort of prime the club for a sale by saying look let's get them up in as cheap a way as possible and then once they're back in the Premier League the value of the club rises because it does feel to me like Fosun you know aren't looking as long term as they sort of you know once were and this summer absolutely speaks to that it's there for all to see in the ages and the money they haven't spent you know
