Should you have an email list? Is social media still worth it? Do you really need a blog for SEO? What about Instagram ads? These are some of the most common marketing questions I hear from founders…

If you have a business, if you have a brand, I know that it's probably not the thing that you were thinking about in many cases when you start a business and you start building something, you're not thinking about how you have to become a full-time marketer and content creator and all these things.

And there's different solutions to this for different parts of the journey, different industries, all of that good stuff, okay? So speaking in general terms, If you have a business, you have to be marketing that business.

But if you want people to be able to find you through search, you have to think about how they're going to find you through search.

Or if you know that people are searching for things similar and you don't want to create content for your website, just know that you don't have anything for them to find.

And if you don't want to be on social media, you don't have to be on social media, but you do need to find places to get in front of your audience.

And that may or may not be social media, may or may not be Instagram, might be someplace else.

If you're looking for things to happen a little more quickly, that's not going to be your SEO and your Pinterest and your content that lasts longer.

And so the short answer is, no, you don't have to do any of those things specifically, but you do have to do something.

And while that might sound really obvious, there are a number of conversations that I have with people where they're frustrated about where their sales are.

And typically, they're frustrated with their sales when there's not a lot of marketing activity.
