No Halloween letdown for No. 6 Utah. The Utes built a 42–6 halftime lead and beat Cincinnati 49–25 to improve to 8–0 heading into the Holy War. Steve Bartle and Josh Bennett break down Utah’s…
Steve BartleHostJosh BennettHostWe've heard that over and over again, but the right kind of tale of two halves, Utah played four quarters of football and then some in one half of football.
And in the second half, like, What can you really do? It kind of reminded me of the Utah State game up a lot at halftime.
What else do you really want to see? I make nothing of what happened in the second half.
I literally am not looking at anything in the second half as a takeaway from the performance that you saw on the football field today.

And then you get the, the two scores at the end of the half and it's 42 to six at halftime.

I mean, at that point you're just in let's, for this game as quickly as we can and as healthy as we can.

And when you come out and you perform the way that you do in the first half, it gives you a lot of leeway in the second half to do some things, to maybe get cute, to maybe get a little lax, you know, and that's the result of coming out so strong in the first half.

But again, Utah performed, came out, and with all the concerns around Utah and how they were going to handle coming off the big win, they showcased that the first two possessions of the game, the Utah defense getting the three and out, and then Utah going, what was it, 15 plays, 12 plays, 78 yards on the first possession to put six on the board.

And that, to me, kind of set the tone for the rest of the game, was the way that Utah started on defense and on offense today.
