One guy from my gaming group and a professor that I work with in my department who teaches like you know, literature and English and that kind of stuff.

For people who may not know Dungeon Crawler Carl, it's been a bit of a runaway hit in the last few years and recently kickstarted an RPG licensed game that raised tens of millions of dollars and was a huge success as well.

The author has said that there will be 9 books in the series, but book 9 will be long enough that it will be split up into 2 books.

Not necessarily visit all 18 levels of the dungeon is the implication that I'm taking from that.

So Dungeon Crawler Carl is a book about a guy named Carl who... was chasing his ex-girlfriend's cat out into the yard uh in the middle of the night in his boxers his boxers and a leather coat wearing crocs that don't fit him and on the coldest day or the coldest night in seattle uh and that happened to be when um the aliens came and flattened the earth basically every man-made structure on earth uh immediately disappeared and sunk into the ground and anybody who was inside of them was killed and so he survived because he was chasing the cats and from there um it turns into a weird game show style thing and he finds his way into the dungeon looking for a place to get warm um and once in the dungeon you have entered the game and it is it is um i've been trying to think wrap my head around how to describe this book to people.

Um, it's like one part hunger games, one part, um, Oh, there was a third, there was a second book on my list.

And then, and then the absurdity of like the hitchhiker's guide to the galaxy, um, is, is sort of there, but all mixed in with a, the, uh, it's also, you know, at least one part, like doom, the, the, the video game.
