Have Weddings Become Content?

I am your host Bailey and today we're asking the question is it possible to not be on at your wedding? Weddings have always involved at least some degree of performance and this isn't a new concept because there's already things like entrances, portraits, first dances, introductions, speeches, first looks, special ceremonial clothing that you put on, an audience.

I mean it's an audience.

You have an audience and the list goes on and on.

And the difference comes down to who you're performing for.

Because it used to just be the people that were in the room with you.

And now it's become anybody with one of these.

And the audience now creeps into social media.

The wedding gallery.

The wedding film.

The teaser film.

People who aren't there and even to your future self.

And I've noticed that we plan weddings according to what we've seen from other weddings insofar as an underlying visual language that is extremely unspoken but they're all subconscious expectations we have somewhere in the back of our head.

Things like getting ready photos, bridesmaid reactions, sibling reactions, Parent reactions.

Like the whole first look thing.

First look with your partner.

Private vows.

Public vows.

Champagne towers.

Different veil shots.

Different types of cameras.

Like different lenses, different films.

At the same wedding.

Specific separate flashes for the reception photos.
