S5 Ep.3: It Awaits

[gentle music] Another sprite passed by and all my attention honed in on that window.

There, strange runes imprinted in the glass.

The sprites moved on and the runes disappeared.

"Frankie?" I called, darting off in the direction she'd gone, Jake on my heels.

"Hey, Frankie!" I found her rounding a corner, heading straight for the kitchens as she drained the last of the coffee mug.

At my call, she was on instant alert.

"What happened?" she asked, setting the mug on the counter, ready to spring into action.

I shook my head and waved my hands.

"Sorry, it's, it's not an emergency.

I, I saw something." She was staring at me with wide eyes, still trying to figure out what was going on.

"You, you saw something?" "In the window," I said.

"Do you know any of the sprites?" "The sprites?" She cocked her head.

"Well, yeah, but..." "Can you get the sprites to go back to the stained glass window at the top of the stairs a- and have them hang out by that black hole in the middle?" "Black hole?" "Just trust me," I said, my entire body humming with excitement.

"This could be something huge.

There's something you need to see." "Okay," she said slowly.

"Give me a second?" The statement came out as a question as she worked through her confusion.

She took a couple of steps before coming back, grabbing the coffee mug, and refilling it.

"Okay." She set off again before turning around and coming back.

"Hold on." She added a few pinches of cinnamon.

"Okay." Twenty minutes later, Frankie rejoined me at the top of the stairs.

"I asked Tilly to fly back behind the window, and a few others joined.

They didn't seem to understand either, but they agreed." "Thank you," I said, my excitement building.

"Wait until you see this." When the sprites returned, there the symbols were, all the clearer while the sprites clustered together.

"See?" I asked.

"What are those? You see those too, right?" Frankie frowned.
