Well, speaking of like, you know, when you get into being a stepmom, you know, there's so much stuff that we're told by society, but, you know, even by like our friends and family, like... you know, be involved and treat the kids like they're yours and, you know, keep the peace and support your partner.
Like, what are the things that you heard that kind of backfired for you as a new stepmom? Or what are the things that you would kind of caution against, you know? Besides all of it? I know
right thanks that mom advice is so outlandish the ones that really kind of messed with me the most I think would be the ones that were telling you you know how to parent someone else's kids because
even a bio parent you know when think about when your in-laws come in town when you have a new baby
and they're like back in our day this is how we fed you and this is what we let you do and this is how you know and that stuff doesn't it's not Every case is different.
And so with parenting children and especially stepkids, it is so nuanced and the ebb and flow that you kind of have just, you have to take these punches left and right and be able to be flexible with what comes up and adjust as needed.
But even if there was one, you couldn't follow it because each step family dynamic is so different.
How do they love you? What does that look like? That's also going to change house to house and phase to phase.
