The crew undertakes a dramatic rescue - all while certain doom approaches from orbit. Glade and Alastar make an agreement. Barron plays with a big tube. Juno is a wizard. (This podcast contains scenes…
We began with the ship, the Violet King Henry, flying over the deserts of Mambo 5, leaving Rita in the rear view and burning for Sandra City.
Glade was gazing at Juno, willing her awake, and Alistair was learning that they couldn't outrun the desert bear even if they really super-duper wanted to.
Eventually, Baron and Glade woke up in stable condition, if not feeling fucking tight as fuck or whatever.
Uh, sadly, they weren't able to enjoy their time together as they received a notification that someone was sending a signal from the ship.
Alistair and Glade raced to the cargo bay to discover that Melissa, Moira, Mackenzie, uh, yeah, you get it, uh, had sold them out to the Commodore.
Uh, they decided to kick her out in the middle of the desert, given that she apologized.
Uh, it would take a day or so until it fully, uh, healed her arm, but at least she wasn't fully gimped.
They arrived in Sandra, their tank running dry, and learned that it was an anarcho-communist commune, direct democracy clusterfuck, and that they could barter for everything that they needed just by helping the city charge their batteries using the ship's reactor.
Bartering for fuel turned out to be difficult, however, as they met with Sarah, who proposed that she'd give them as much fuel as she could, four tons, uh, in exchange for them smuggling nukes into the desert bear to prevent Robert Hanson from expanding his de facto empire.
