They've got three kids together and they've basically done well in their portfolio.

So Sid was on a barbecue over one of the weekends with his friends and one of the friends that, you know, encouraged him to consider getting into commercial property as it's probably the better investment strategy moving forward.

So when he first came to me, he was basically looking to buy a commercial property under his company or a personal name because that was what his friend has recommended.

But when I asked him, you know, have you thought about going down the path of self-managed super fund? He dismissed that.

He said something like he's looking to get some of the proper capital growth and more active investments rather than something that's passive.

I'm not qualified to give you that, but I think you should speak to an accountant or your accountant to basically determine what's the best strategy for you.

There's a point there for the self-management of your funds because a lot of people get scared off because they consider it their nest egg and they don't want to ruin their financial future.

But you could still do the same investment outside the self-managed super fund.

And then the money you have outside of super, you could put into diversified funds.

So it doesn't necessarily mean you're completely removing the diversification of a superannuation fund.
