So the reason I want to talk to you today is that Paylos, one of Paylos' main services is respite and short-term accommodation or short-term respite, whatever we are now calling it.

And there's just been so many changes in that space since the price guide came out a couple of weeks ago.

And that's resulted in a cut of around between five and six hundred dollars per person per day of respite.

So I was wondering if you could explain what unbundling means and give us any more context around what these changes are about.

The idea behind respite is essentially supposed to give respite to the informal carers that do such important work.

And for those carers and for those parents and family members, the idea of their loved one, I guess, staying away can be quite daunting and quite anxiety provoking, especially if you've never done that before.

And so what can really assist with that idea or with that process is knowing that there's going to be a provider and the people are going to be trained and qualified, and they're going to have the resources and the facilities to provide 24-7 care.

So you're going to think about things like their accommodation, their entertainment, their activities.

And so to be able to pull that off effectively, does take quite a lot of resources and so for a provider to be able to do that um um i guess the easiest way is that you'd have this 24 hour um line item right which is essentially the bundle package and so you would have a day rate which represents 24 hours of respite and and that allows the provider to be able to provide the the appropriate staffing the accommodation the food the activities and that kind of stuff and so if you understand from that context and that being the original intent um for carers and family members to have the peace of mind knowing that the provider that is going to take take on their loved one for 24-hour care is resourced enough to be able to do that safely and meaningfully.

You want to know that they've done something that's increased their capacity, increased their access to the community.

So to be able to do that, you want to make sure that they've got the resources to be able to do that.

And so the price guide needs to be able to reflect that a provider is able to provide that service effectively and safely and in a meaningful way.

So by unbundling it, what they're really doing is they're taking out the accommodation portion and just paying you for the supports because their argument there is that NDIS doesn't cover accommodation.
