Send us Fan Mail In this episode of The Sewing Social, I’m joined by Chris Wincott (Haus of Wincott) to talk about his journey from experimenting…
I'm very strong, um, interest and, uh, advocacy for men's mental health in any way that we can, um, support it.
Not to bog it down with statistics, but we know that men tend to feel that they can't talk about things.
But, um, it's, i- it's still a bit of a taboo subject, so I thought, "How can I help in, under the umbrella of my skill set?" Well, fashion.
I wanted to create a collection that was designed to help men's mental health, the fabrics being super soft and cut in a certain way that it was almost like a bit of a, a physical hug, like a reassurance.
It lowers your cortisol levels, and it, it calms you, and you don't even realize it's happening.
And the whole thing was designed to, you could wear it during the day, go about your business, and then it, and it's absorbing, and it's absorbing, and it's doing its job, and it's absorbing.
And then at night, when you need it most, it starts glowing, and you just, ah, you know, kind of unwind.
And it's something I wanted to explore, and I, I will go back in and explore more.
And you, you're still trying to sort of advocate for men's mental health as well, aren't you?
Yeah, so, um, I mean, I'm trying to do it in, in various different i- dif- different avenues, if you like.
