So we did classic daiquiris last time, which are, uh, defined by being light-bodied rums, uh, largely column still.
... refreshing daiquiris that don't have huge, bold, you know, funky rum flavors or anything like that.
So the modern side of the bracket, what do we mean with modern daiquiri rums, and what makes these different? Why are we even calling them modern? Is that even a good label? What do you think?
I challenge people to get a better label for them, 'cause that's a really tough thing.
Um, we, we talked about it a lot about, like, what do we even call these? So I think we landed on modern for a few different reasons.
And for me, I'll start with telling you what I think I'm looking for out of a modern rum and why I, I think it's an interesting bracket as opposed to, like, the traditional, right? You mentioned the traditional.
We talked about our definition in that episode of being quaffable, crisp, clean, refreshing, not overpowering, very balanced.
Here, what I think I'm looking for in a modern daiquiri rum or rum with a modern sense to it, like we're doing here, would be, I'm looking for less about balance, I think, and more about interesting, right?
I'm saying, can't saying, uh, I can't say it's gonna be, like, uh, unbalanced, right? But I, I'm less concerned with it being really traditionally what I'm expecting and more concerned with, like, how fun, how interesting is it, how much can I really taste the rum contributing to the drink.
So I know we have talked about at the end of all of this that we're doing, maybe going back and trying our favorites from each bracket, and I'm excited to see.
