And so I just was thinking about that because I did want to tell you that My doctor's oncology specialist, that's an oncology radiologist, did a CT scan.
We said in our last podcast that my wife and I walked into our doctor's office really in a lot of discomfort from a mass that was growing in the back of my head.
I didn't realize it was actually a mass until a few days before two of my lymph nodes got really hard and swollen on the right side of my jawbone.
And I'm a veterinarian.
I have a tiny little bit of knowledge about lymph nodes.
Things like this, and I just began to feel like I probably need to go see a specialist instead of a regular doctor because I think something's not right in the back of my throat.
And they came out of the room, and he said, the first guy that saw us said, this is 100%.
I'm so confident.
this is going to be a squamous cell carcinoma growing in the back of your mouth.
And so it means you've got throat cancer.
And he started to try to comfort us with the information that he needed to tell us about what throat cancer might look like and what we needed to do next.
And as I told you last time, we decided to do biopsies in the office and he was very certain really fine Christian doctor.
I love him like crazy.
But he was completely certain that we are going to be on a journey.
And that's what we said the last time that we recorded a podcast.
And so we were waiting on decisions about how to proceed with treatment.
And there were a few days in that waiting period where We really suffered a lot of pain.
And so I just want to tell you that all of my friends and my family and people just all over the place prayed for me and wrote to me in text and called on the phone and just loved on us.
It was a very, very hard time.
period of days in there where I just wasn't able to even swallow a glass of water without a lot of pain and so it just I really understand what some people are going through when they suffer and what I saw and understood was how This was just the other side of this coin was there were some days in there where I so felt the comfort of the Lord, even in the midst of throat pain, this pain that was bothering me because I knew that God hides his best treasures.
suffering.
And we live in a culture that doesn't see that.
And so I don't want to say I was excited, but I was aware and very comforted by the fact that this new journey was going to be like a treasure hunt.
