And today we have a guest, but today we're going to do a little something different because it's the anniversary of something big.

So this is the 24th anniversary of Hurricane Katrina, and I composed just a little something to be a little bit reflective in the remembrance of that.

You know, we like to believe that we're in control, that our lives move according to the plans we make, the choices we understand, and in a world that we've somehow learned to master.

But beneath all this day to day, I think lies this quiet fragility that's really woven into every second of every day.

The ordinary can suddenly lose all meaning and survival becomes the only truth that matters.

When a hurricane arrives, like it did 21 years ago, tomorrow, everything else disappears.

It doesn't matter what you were doing before the storm because you're no longer doing it.

You could be a soldier in the middle of a brutal battle surrounded by gunfire, confusion, and violence.
