Why does the woman who made "weaponized incompetence" a household term still catch herself doing it all when stress hits? Well, I got to talk to her, Laura Danger, author of No More Mediocre, for…
And you know what? I literally was on the phone with my boomer mom who's 75.
Just so y'all can all have a glimmer because I know you meant I've heard you mentioned this in a podcast too, because I hate to let y'all know, but we are entering the sandwich generation where we are caregiving below and above.
And my mom is still very self-sufficient, and yet she's in a situation with her aging husband.
Anyway, I love calling her up and being like, mom, listen, you know, like she's letting me in on her finances.
She's telling me more about how she's budgeting and how that sweet woman is still saying it's fine.
It's fine.
It's fine.
And yet she's, but like the rubber's really hitting the road.
And I'm like, mom, you, anyway, I don't want to betray her details, but I literally was like, there's this dynamic with the daughters and all this stuff that is just really interesting.
But how, Again, what I learned at Gloria's is like women are not going to be freely given hardly anything.
And we have to ask and we have to demand and we have to say this isn't OK and this isn't OK and this is what I need.
Because everyone will extract from us what they will take the most they possibly can.
And they will until we have this huge AI remembrance and we become secure, interconnected beings, which we're on the road to.
But currently, a lot of people are not.
And I surely wasn't a few years ago.
But otherwise, it's up to each individual woman to be like, not okay.
Actually, no, you can't do that.
Actually, no. Nope.
I need this.
That's not fair.
Actually, no. I'm telling y'all, it's just...
It's just what we got to do.
We got to get real comfortable telling those kids knows those employers knows those parents, partners, and call out bullshit when we see it.
