Today Kim and Finola talk about all things flowers in Salt Lake City Public Lands. It's an episode that is almost as beautiful as the flowers themselves, you won't want to miss it!
Charlene BadgerGuestKimHostFinolaHostum so then okay so there are there i didn't even think about the pots downtown i didn't either yeah or
urns in liberty park these are like not some of these sound like not easy spaces to to plan or care for yeah

they have some challenges and we work around that um i have to make a appointment to get the versalist so we can go and do that we've had some problems there for a while they the plumbing at the the the sprinklers for the urns had some problems so we weren't able to plant them for a couple years and in the meantime a sucker tree started in it and so we actually had to take an axe up there and chop it out to get it out and not take out the sprinklers So things like that.

And the downtown, the challenges with downtown is Main Street is a wind tunnel.
Oh,

We have to watch the plants that we put in those pots that are at the intersections because they take a lot of wear and tear from the wind.

So more durable plants are put there or we'll put a grass that's got a little height to help break the wind so the other plants are protected.

So selecting plants that are going to do well in that condition and give us the most color and beauty.
Yeah.
So is that planning? When does all of that happen for the year or for the season, I guess, the growing season?
