Can Ireland become the world leader in digital health?

Now, the promise here is that if we embark on this project, this moonshot, and you call it a moonshot because it kind of re- reminds us of Kennedy getting-

Exactly

... a man on the moon and all of that.

Exactly.

The idea is to embark on a project that is, if you like, a test bed, and if it works, to scale it up.

So what exactly is the project?

Great.

So, um, well, let's think about where we are in health today just to explain the, the context.

So we have Sláinte Care, which is actually a terrific strategy.

It's supported by all the parties.

But what has happened is that wait lists have doubled, and we've actually made remarkable progress in life expectancy here in Ireland and all around the world, but our health systems are actually breaking.

We've work, uh, for shortages, and unless we do something different, uh, the systems are gonna collapse.

And what this strategic moonshot is about, we call it Mission 10X, and it's about building a 10 times better health system, which is empowered by digital.

But it completely means actually reimagining and shifting where care happens from the hospital-
