Prosper TaruvingaHostall right you guys welcome to yet another exciting episode of the online prosperity show let me tell you one thing it's about to get weird in here because you know this is the number one place where you discover the people the ideas and strategies that are actually changing the way we leave work and succeed so if you've ever felt like maybe you don't quite fit in or like you see things a little bit differently or maybe you're asking questions that others won't dare to ask and maybe you think in ways that other people start to feel comfortable whenever you show up.
I think today's episode is going to be for you because what if all of that wasn't your weakness? What if that was your greatest advantage? So today's guest is back for the second time running and i can't wait to get weird with this guest and um yeah i think this is going to be one of those episodes where if this is your first time around you want to make sure that you are subscribed because you don't want to miss out on what's about to come through Now, joining me today is Trish Goodfield.
For those that are meeting Trish for the very first time, she's one of Australia's leading experts on diversity of thought and also the author of the powerful new book, Weird Wisdom at Work.
But I love that she talks about what if being called weird was the highest compliment you could ever receive.
So we're going to be thumping through this book and it's got that new book smell, but I've gone through it and I've, you earmarked it and I'm sorry Trish you know maybe this is not what you actually expected the dog ears and there's not a lot of coffee stains but there's so much to go through in your book and I really appreciate the gift that you've not only given me but you've given every one of us weird folk out there so thank you so much for putting this together I can't wait to jump into it so For those that are wondering what I'm talking about, I'm not being weird.
See, when Trish was actually called weird during a meeting for asking questions that nobody else would dare ask, she didn't take this as an insult.
Some of us would have literally, I don't know, gone to fair work or things of that nature, but she literally said, used that to now create, you know, what she's now helping other people figure out.
And that moment actually sent her on a journey that would eventually become a movement helping organizations unlock innovation, resilience, and also make better decisions and healthier cultures.
You might be wondering, how do I know all of this? Because when we went through the first episode with Tricia, I thought she was weird, but she got me to understand exactly what it is that she is doing.
So if you've ever been told that, hey, maybe you're too much, you're too different, you're too curious, or you're too unconventional, or just simply weird.
