Uh, when I first got into duck hunting I asked one of my friends what the most important thing about waders is and how to pick the right kind of waders and whether or not one type is better than another type.
And uh, his answer to me essentially was the best duck hunting waders are the ones that keep you dry.
Do they keep you dry? If they don't keep you dry they're worth almost nothing.
And in those days the duck hunting wader market was a little different than it is today.
I think uh, uh, quite a bit has shifted in the past few years and I made an episode similar to this one several years back and I decided, um, you know what, it's really not as relevant today as it was back then.
I actually took that episode down and I'm replacing it with this one for a, a, several reasons.
I think this is the best time to be a duck hunter or a new duck hunter a- as it relates to waders.
Uh, but as I reflected on what my friend said, you know, how important it is for waders to keep you dry, um, and after I've hunted for, with different kinds of waders over the years, my conclusion to, to his statement there is number one, yes, 100% spot on.
Yes, i- if they don't keep you dry they're worth nothing, but there's more to it than just keeping you dry.
Some of the gizmos and gadgets and so on may be helpful for some, but mobility is important.
How long will these waders last? And so first I wanna do an overview of the different kinds of waders that are out there and then we're gonna drill down and talk with, uh, some, some more specifics on different kinds and different things that I find important.
