Ever had a completely random idea pop into your head and wondered… where on earth did that come from? In this episode of the Mind Burp Podcast, I dive into the wonderfully weird world of ideas and…

I have to be in like a Zen moment and I have to be sitting there with a cup of green tea thinking, right, I need to come up with it.

In fact, that's probably what I would suggest you kind of avoid doing because you're almost trying to force an idea.

Then I think the best ideas come to you just, you know, when you're going for a walk.

once there's when there's too much noise in the background and i mean too much things too many things going on social media family things holiday work all the rest of this stuff it's difficult to kind of switch off in order to allow your your kind of mind to drift off into these other kind of areas to figure out what you can create so you but you do need to switch off in order to switch that part of your brain on i i think um And, you know, I always kind of have this kind of what if philosophy, you know, what if I could do this a certain way? What happens if this doesn't go this way or this happens or this happens? And it's always like kind of probing it.

And that's what I try to get my son Ari to do as well to say, OK, well, we can do it this way.

But once we do a different way, what will happen? And over the years, he's only four years now, you know, he only turned four and me, I've got so much inspiration from him it's unbelievable and i think god i never even thought about doing things that way um and you know when he was about maybe a year old or something like that i've got a video of him doing this he had these stacking cups where he had to stack the cups from like the largest one at the bottom it was like a number one and then it'd go to like number uh two and three and then went up to like 10 or something 10 was like this tiny tiny little shot glass kind of cup and you'd have to stack them on top of each other it's like a stacking kind of cup thing so they could kind of figure out balance i suppose and uh numbers and colors and god knows what else and i propositioned him and he had this little tiny tiger i said look ari all the way to do is just stack the cups and get the tiger to the top and my kind of view was that he was going to stack them in that kind of order from 1 to 3 to 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 and then put the tiger on top but he didn't do that he kind of he started with like the biggest one and then he started to kind of put another one there and then a random one and then he put a slightly smaller one and then he put a slightly bigger one on top of that one so it was like kind of eclipsing that and then he put another one on and i was like what on earth but at the end of it He'd kind of almost completed the brief.

He'd stacked all the 10 cups like I asked him to do, albeit they weren't in the right order.

And another kind of time, I remember he had this kind of little box with geometric symbols on it.

How did you get to think of that? So it just shows that you can get inspiration from like, you know...

I've even got inspiration just sat there in the sauna, you know, looking at the drips on the tiles, thinking, oh, I wonder if this could be a game and the way the configuration of the drips are on the different tiles and all sorts of stuff.

And that led me to think about another game as well, which I've yet to kind of come up with.

So it just shows that, you know, Just keep a note of all your ideas, no matter how stupid they are, how random they are.
