On last week's episode, Netherland Mayor Nicole Sterling joined the show to announce the town is making changes to its deal to purchase Eldora Ski Resort from Utah-based Powder after feedback from hesitant investors earlier this year.
Part of that plan is seeking up to $20 million in funding for capital improvements from the state of Colorado to help reduce the debt Ned would take on in an acquisition.
A report from Denver Business Journal revealed the ask is more urgent than it seems.
Emails DBJ acquired through the Colorado Open Records Act showed a message Sterling sent on August 27th to the governor's office, stating Powder needs to, quote, "...be able to get an answer from us much sooner than we anticipated regarding the gap to fill so they don't put the mountain back out to market." She also asked how soon the state will know if funding is even available, adding, quote, In August, the governor's office said a decision in a week's time was doubtful.
