So in building the company, what have been the biggest challenges along the way?

That's a good question.

When I left my corporate job 22 years ago, my dad said something to me.

He was like, you sure? And I was like, I'm sure.

And he goes, don't ever get staff.

And it's coming from a man who's run his own business for as long as I know and staff heavy.

And he said it tongue in cheek, but the biggest challenge has not been finding good people.

It's not been finding extraordinary people, they exist.

And when you do something that you fully believe in, I think those people kind of are attracted to that situation.

It's not burning them out, has been the biggest challenge.

And we've had a couple of examples and probably some of my bigger regrets.

is that when you're not in a centralised office and you can see people every day and we've had people again, Wellington, Taupo, Auckland, it's easy for people to all of a sudden just get a bit tired and get to the end of.

And you're not noticing.

And I'm not.

And I didn't.

And my team didn't necessarily notice.

And it was described to me the other day that the business that we've got now is a real reflection on the people that built it.

Yep.

And it is a little bit chaos and it is a little bit unorthodox and culture is key.

And all those things that you and I have spent hours in rooms talking about over the last six months, some people need structure.

And, you know, we've gone and hired someone to bring the structure from the bottom up because I'm aware that not everyone can run constantly in chaos.

And so that's probably been the biggest challenge.

And it's probably not even the people.

Well, you're talking about part of the leadership journey when you go from a small team and everybody kind of knows what everybody's doing and you all just get on with it.
