So there is a number one rule that I have particular to marketing, but it's absolutely applicable to all the departments in your business in one way or another.

If you do not give people a reason to give a shit, then you are going to continuously always feel like nobody is listening to you.

caring about what you have to say or actually implementing it or taking feedback from you.

If you aren't always making sure that you are giving somebody a reason to give a shit, then you are oftentimes going to fail in your efforts in trying to get your message across and for it to actually resonate.

And I think this is one of the biggest things that I learned as an educator to actually create great facilitation.

when a company has trained me just in my own experience, like if I actually want people to take this amazing information that I know will change their lives and their businesses, I need to make them care because yes, we all know that we need to take education, right? And like education is great, but in order for you to actually care enough to implement it, I need to sell you on the idea.

In order for your brain to give me enough calories that is allotted to paying attention to what I have to say, I need to give your brain a reason to care, right? Our brains are, it literally burns calories to think, to spend energy paying attention to somebody and paying attention to a specific topic and learning about it.

And so if you don't have urgency or enough energy desire around the topic, then it's not gonna resonate with you.

You're not going to want to store that information as much as if it was something that you actually gave a shit about.

And so you as the human being, who is then communicating to others in your marketing, in your behind the chair service, when you are trying to sell retail or when you're just trying to set expectations or educate your client, or when you're trying to get your team on board and when you're trying to coach them and give them feedback, you need to be very aware of if you are giving this person enough of a reason to care about what you have to say.

And so Jodi found this specific statistic that we got from our consumer behavior study that we did this past year that made us kind of think about this topic and this concept that we wanted to bring to you and share.
