For today, I'd like to go a little deeper into a question I left you with that I'd love you to think more about this week, which is this.
And if you tried to answer it and found that you couldn't quite get there, that the dream would not fully come into focus, or that you felt a little silly even trying, I want you to know that you are not alone because most of us, somewhere along the way, stop letting ourselves dream at all.
You were going to travel the world or write a book or live by the sea or start something of your own.
You learned that what was sensible, what was expected, and what a responsible person does.
And slowly, without ever quite deciding to, you traded the big hope and dreaming for the practical planning.
You stopped asking, "What do I want?" and started asking, "What can I manage?" And what that costs is not so small.
It is the map, and so many women are trying to navigate the rest of their lives with no map at all because somewhere along the way, they were taught that drawing one was indulgent or not practical.
So today, I want to give you the permission and a way to dream a little again and properly with the editor outside of the room.
