He's very conservative, and he's been a hero of Texas conservatives, the hardliners, and a kind of a hero of conservatives across the United States.

But there's always been controversy about the guy, and lately now controversy in his personal life.

His wife last year filed for divorce, and in her fi-- and apparently this is a, this is, as breakups go, really bitter.

These guys, these people who have divorces, and they're not bitter, I mean, you-- they should all write books on this.

I mean, what percentage of, of your friends that got divorced did it turn out bitter would you say? No, but I mean, you, well, you know some divorced people, right? Oh, just one.

I, I think usually they're rather bitter, and in some cases, they're viciously bitter.

The-- there, there are some in which they, uh-- in the ones in which they kind of get along, I think you either do it for the children, or it was just they both kind of knew it's time to move on or, or whatever.

And the divorce is coming, you know, she-- they, they filed for divorce last year.

She filed for divorce last year, the year before her husband runs for the United States Senate.

Divorce, you know, there have been politicians that have been divorced forever and ever and ever, and sometimes it's a big deal.

But to have a divorce right before you run and with the potential for the reasons for the divorce getting out, it's bad stuff.

And Paxton's wife, Angela, in the filing said she's filing for biblical reasons.

And it's generally accepted that apparently there was somebody else, and he was cheating on her and so on.
