Lucy Ann LanceHost

3:17

I know that a lot of people out there are always looking for puppies, you know-

W

Wendy WelchGuest

3:20

Yeah

Lucy Ann LanceHost

3:20

... as opposed to an older dog, and I understand that.

Lucy Ann LanceHost

3:23

You wanna be with them for the entire journey.

Lucy Ann LanceHost

3:25

Is it true of cats too that most people that adopt really are looking for kittens, or not necessarily?

W

Wendy WelchGuest

3:31

Yeah.

W

Wendy WelchGuest

3:32

You know what? It does span a- i- it's, it's, uh ...

W

Wendy WelchGuest

3:35

Yeah, a lot of people will come in looking for a senior cat who, you know, is all calm and you know what you're getting.

Lucy Ann LanceHost

3:40

Ah.

W

Wendy WelchGuest

3:41

Um, but we definitely have people looking for kittens as well.

W

Wendy WelchGuest

3:44

Kittens tend to live longer than dogs.

W

Wendy WelchGuest

3:47

Um, so there's not as much, uh, turnover, for lack of a better word-

Lucy Ann LanceHost

3:51

Mm-hmm

W

Wendy WelchGuest

3:51

... um, for people in their homes.

W

Wendy WelchGuest

3:53

However, lots of people out there, just FYI, adopting two kittens is fabulous.

W

Wendy WelchGuest

4:00

Um-

Lucy Ann LanceHost

4:00

[laughs] Really?

W

Wendy WelchGuest

4:01

Much ...

W

Wendy WelchGuest

4:02

Yes.

W

Wendy WelchGuest

4:03

You know, adopting two puppies, not so great, 'cause a lot of times they'll bond with each other and not with you.

W

Wendy WelchGuest

4:07

But kittens will teach each other, will bond with each other, and with you.

W

Wendy WelchGuest

4:12

So, uh-

Lucy Ann LanceHost

4:12

Oh

W

Wendy WelchGuest

4:12

... really encourage people to adopt two kittens at one time.

Lucy Ann LanceHost

4:15

I never knew that.
