Laura, I think a lot of people hear the phrase systems thinking and immediately assume it's complicated or highly technical.

For someone hearing the term for the very first time, how do you explain systems thinking in simple terms?

A lot of people think of systems thinking as this big academic field with all of these complicated methods and something that's just really hard to get a grasp on.

And really, to me, systems thinking is just building the awareness of how you're thinking things through, how you're building understanding, how you're building a mental model of anything you're thinking about.

The thing that I love about our body of work, my work over the years, is really making systems thinking something that's accessible to anybody.

We've taught it to executives in the Silicon Valley, just in different contexts, but the same sort of underlying skills of systems thinking.

So to me, it's something that's able to be taught, able to be learned, and able to be used in any situation.
