um that can kind of we can extend the conversation into the built environments engineering town planning um architecture as well but i'd love to just start the conversation like um you know you're a podcast host you you connect with lots of people in the surveying industry like what's your what's your take on the surveying industry at the moment like where do you think um things are going and i know it's a very broad question we can go into the the market we can go in the industry we can go into tech and all that sort of stuff but yeah what's your take on the surveillance industry at the moment

Depending on what area you're working in and things like that, the biggest thing that I sort of see at the moment, let's just preface that I am only working part time as a surveyor at the moment.

I'm entrenched into the surveying profession myself at the moment, but things that I do see, what I read, who I speak to, you know, I've got lots of friends, as you said, and I speak to a lot of people, is still the biggest thing is this skills shortage.

The company I was working for, they had so much, they put me on to help them out a little bit sort of thing.

You know, you look on the jobs, on the job sites, there's still lots of jobs for surveyors in the mining, in infrastructure, all of that sort of stuff.

So in certain areas it's slowing down, financial reasons, you know, governments cutting back on money, things like that.

Queensland, as I said, is booming because of the Olympics and stuff happening up there in a little while.
