June is Men's Mental Health Month, and, uh, you know, it's, it's something that we kinda hear in the news and, and, you know, we hear people talk about, uh, you know, that kind of stuff, and I just wanted to...

Uh, it's been on my mind a lot, especially this, uh, spring wa- you know, watching the NHL playoffs, uh, watching Claude Lemieux come out into the Montreal Canadiens, uh, forum, or I guess the Bell Center now, and, uh, you know, look like a man possessed to, to, to cheer on his Habs, and, like, three days later he committed suicide.

He's one of the only players that's won, uh, three Stanley Cups with three different teams.

Uh, just a general awesome playoff agitator hockey player that I remember watching as a kid growing up and, you know? Guy probably had everything going for him, you know? And, uh, next thing you know, he hangs himself, and it's just like, man, like, what, what possesses somebody to do that at, you know, 60 years old? And apparently four times more likely to commit suicide are men over women, and it's just like, man, like, uh, you know, a- a- as a group, as a hunting group, you know, as a hunting club, we just...

Um, you know, I, I don't think anybody listening to this, anybody has, uh, you know, has been unscathed by mental health issues, different things, anxiety, depression, everything, you know, including myself.

Man, I've had some dark, dark times and some rough goes, and I've had some losses in friends and family and just, you know, deaths and just lots of stuff that really brings you down.

And, uh, I don't really think that I've ever had a time where I thought that, you know, maybe ending it would be the, the right decision, but it, uh, you know, things cross your mind at times and, and, you know, you, you always kind of think like, you know, "Would the world be better off without me?" And I know that it...

You know, if, uh, if you think that, uh, you're struggling, you know, and you think you're, you're having a rough go, like, reach out to somebody.

Find, find somebody you can touch base with and just have a chat and have a talk.

And, you know, again, going into the, into the playoffs, I see, you know, watching the Stanley Cup Finals and, you know, I watched the, the Vegas Knights lose and I watched Mitch Marner in the, in the interview afterwards and, like, you could tell the guy was just, like, full of anxiety and, like, you know, you could tell he's, he's mentally struggling, and he even alluded to the dark times that he went through in, in Toronto and the different stuff that he'd gone through.

And, you know, Freddie Anderson had to take a mental break the last couple of games.

I think he was 13 and 2, and then just decided like, "Hey, I can't, I can't keep rolling here," and, you know, passed the buck off to his backup goalie for the last three games and, you know, obviously they won the Stanley Cup, but he just wasn't mentally in it.

Uh, you know, and again, uh, Claude Lemieux that I mentioned earlier was his friend and, and NHL agent and probably just going through a lot of mental duress.
