And way to go to you for, even though you may feel like it took time for you to recognize that he was leading you in a different direction and had plans for you that probably were much more significant than being on the news.

And so I Describe what that looks like for you or as you're talking to people.

I mean, what is one of the main things, especially for leaders, because the people that are listening to our podcast, Priscilla, are people that would view themselves as or at least are like you've been told that they're leaders.

And so where does that living with intentionality and even sense of call from God that they're called to be a leader, where does that come from and how do you describe that?

Man, that's a layered question because there are so many nuances that the main thing though that comes to my mind when you ask that is the importance of having the counterbalance of wiser people in our lives who help us to know if the direction we're feeling called to, if the sacred weightiness of a particular choice we are making, If it actually does resonate with other people who we trust, whose leadership equity they've invested through the years, their ability to sense God's calling on their own life, their success, their experience, we can go to them and we know that they love us enough.

that they will help to keep us accountable to whether we're sort of just making up something or chasing after vain ambition or pride or fear has gotten in the way of a decision that we don't even recognize we're not making clearly in the moment.

Being able to differentiate that has really rested in the fact that I've had leaders around me who I have gone to and said, hey, will you pray about this with me? Or what do you see happening in my life here? How would you give me wisdom on how to navigate this next piece? And by the way, that hasn't just been in ministry or in business.

It's been in matters of raising children that Jerry and I are so grateful.

We have had people 10 to 15 years our senior in most every significant dynamic of our life.

They've been married 40 years or 45 years and they're still happy and they still like each other and they've navigated hard stuff and are willing to share it with us.

Well, those are the people we've been able to go to and say, hey, we're having a hiccup here at year 20, year 21.

What do you advise that we do? Having the counterbalance of those wiser voices in every area of life, stewarding finances and Having wisdom enables us to make sure that we are not getting stumped on minor issues that in the moment you can't see it because they seem major.

You have to have someone on the outside that can look at your life objectively.
