God must find us in motion struggling to draw closer to Him. *Episode referenced in today's episode.*…
We're in the middle of page 56.
We have the great advantage of being greatly loved by God, loved beyond the imagination of men and angels.
Consequently, he won't abandon us.
However, he must find us in motion, striving to draw closer to him.
If he simply finds us on guard, he helps us.
If you are not on the road that leads to Jerusalem, he isn't holding your hand anymore because you're on a side road.
Achieving means moving forward, not just talking about it.
So don't just say that you want to do a certain thing.
Get going.
Act.
Grace comes to your aid when you start moving.
You stopped, so did the grace.
If you offer your will up at every step, your life is a continuous flow because it's a constant stream of grace.
And the prodigal son is the case example of the need to be in motion, always striving back to the Father.
God's not going to abandon us just as the Father in the parable never stopped loving the Son.
But if the Son had not been in motion back to the Father and had stayed in the pig trough overcome with despair, then that's where he would have died.
The son, when he went to the city and squandered his money on food and lust and luxury, he was no longer on the road to Jerusalem.
And quickly he felt isolated from the Father, just as we do when we squander His grace and end up on the side of the road in sin.
But then there was a critical moment that came when God's grace touched him and touches us too, and we have the ability to repent.
And when that moment comes, do we get back up? and start our movement back to the father as the prodigal son did.
When the father saw the son moving towards him, he went out.
He embraced him.
